A great jumping off point for Olympic National Park or a trip on the ferry to Victoria. Plenty of places to eat. Not a whole lot to do outside of the park
There are lots of shops and restaurants here, as well as some hotels. It could make for a nice place to stay. Typically I travel through Port Angeles to catch the ferry.
Stop for the ferry to Victoria. Very occasionally you can see whales off the bow. The queue been long so book ahead, but it's a great way to cross the border.
Convenient place to stay (if not camping) on north end of peninsula as the road into Olympic National Park/hurricane ridge starts right there. You can go from sea shore to mountain peak overlooking glaciers in about 40 min. It is also a port for the Victoria ferry. We found some nice restaurants and downtown was cute and low key. Fun day trips to local state parks to explore the shore.
