It takes time and patience to beat the traffic (if you’re coming from Boston) and catch the ferry to Martha’s Vineyard but upon arrival, there’s tons of art galleries, great lobster rolls and cycling to be had. The only thing that’s missing is a real Vineyard.

Get your seersucker on and head out to the cape. Snag some stellar seafood and lots of preppy gear.

Gogobot has vacation rental listings too; the link is kind of hidden in plain sight--look for it under the the 'Explore Martha's Vineyard' heading on the right side of this page.

There is a great bus system that can take you to all the towns... http://www.mvy.com/Visitor_Information/Getting_Around.aspx It seems confusing at first but you catch on. I have used this thing for years. http://www.vineyardtransit.com/Pages/VTA_Maps/index definitely see all the towns and lighthouses. It is beautiful
