High standards, always.

We've visited half a dozen times since it changed hands (we also thought it was good pre-sale).
We know the owners from elsewhere and we know the chefs from a different establishment. They've come together to create something quite special.
The interior and exterior have been transformed, the bar is brighter, the restaurant is such an amazing space to dine, the outside area has the best views, the quoits pitches are superb having been created from scratch, the rooms look great etc etc.
But what stands out for us, aside from all of the above and the amazing food, is the staff... all polite, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.
But it's the kids that stand out, every one of them looks like they want to be there and are actually enjoying being there (which isn't always the case). Well done to whoever recruits and trains them, I wish I'd had you as a trainer for my staff!

5 Stars for the Queens Head Team

Excellent pre-arrival communication, a warm Yorkshire welcome & exquisite accommodation. We are a family of four & arrived for an overnight stay to break up a long drive from Scotland. The team were welcoming & checked if we needed anything extra once we were settled. The family accommodation is spacious, beautifully decorated by someone with a real eye for colour & detail & comprises good size bedrooms, bathrooms & lounge area. There is a mini fridge freezer with complimentary bottled water & fresh milk, good quality biscuits in addition to tea & coffee. The mattresses, pillows & quilts (NeXT) made sleeping feel like we were in our own beds. Complimentary Cole & Porter toiletries & Sleep Paks were provided. The accommodation was spotlessly clean & so many extra towels provided. The pub & restaurant are adjacent but not noisy, in fact there was no noise whatsoever. The menu is extensive with reasonable prices. The whole experience was perfect & we will return on our next long trip. Congratulations Queens Head Team - you nailed it! 5 stars from our family.

A hidden gem

Thank you so much for making our holiday. The friendly and attentive staff, the exceptional food, and the stunning views, which were so unexpected from what we thought was a little country pub. So good we went back for food for a second night out of a 4 night stay. Go here!! It is epic.

As always, a wonderful visit...

For the last 8 years, we have rented a cottage in Finghall and frequented this establishment every year, apart from two years ago when it was undergoing refurbishment following a sale.
Last year we enjoyed a welcoming greeting, good beer and excellent food. This years' visit was much the same. Some additional decorating and improvements have been made but the overriding feature of the Queens Head in the quality of the staff, who do everything they can to ensure you have a good experience.
Dog friendly is always a bonus to us but generally in May/June, we can sit outside and enjoy a bit of sun.
Keep up the great offerings and excellent experiences for visitors.
