Horrible!

Horrible experience. No staff, creepy Mood. There's a nightclub that kept the whole house buzzing until 4:00 in the morning. Run away!

What a grim place, avoid at all costs.

If I could give Viva Hostel 0 stars I would. Honestly, avoid this place at all costs!
I turned up for my booking on a Tuesday and there was nobody in the hostel. No staff, no other guests. Things got worse as we saw our room. There was so much grim about this place: no heating in the room (when it's freezing outside...), chewing gum on the beds, torn bed linen, broken bed slats, broken showers...
When we contacted the owner we were told somebody would come and look at the issues the next day, and we should try another room in the meantime. No better here. And with nobody to fix anything until the next day we left. I am out of pocket from leaving this hostel early, but no chance I could stay here any longer. The irony of it all is that it isn't even cheap.

literally made me sick

I’ve never left a review in my life, let alone a bad one, but i’m at this hostel currently, it’s nearing 11pm and i’ve been awake for an hour because of what i can only describe as the worst noise I’ve ever heard in my life. I was woken at around 22:00 with a feeling of immense sickness and my ears were ringing, and ended up making a run for the bathroom and being sick. I got back to my room to realise the floor was vibrating, my ears started ringing again and the sick feeling came back. I realised it was the music from the club below making me feel this way. With no exaggeration whatsoever, it is literally making my bed VIBRATE. I cannot sleep. I feel so nauseous and disorientated. This is like hell. I feel like i’m going to vomit again at any point. I was absolutely thrilled when i arrived here and my room was two thirds empty and that there were no signs of anyone else in the building- now i know why. God, this is a nightmare. Please. Do not stay here. Worst night of my life and it’s only 22:51.

Horrible stay

It is fine to have a night club/bar inside a hostel. However, it is NOT okay if no appropriate noise isolation were in place.
A few facts to describe the noise isolation of this hostel:
1. My bed was shaking.
2. Chairs was clacking due to the vibration.
3. My ears hurt. So does my head.
4. I've been fully awake for at least two hours.
5. I would rather write this comment at 2-ish on a Sunday than try to sleep for another time.
P.S. It seems like other travelers shared the same experience years ago. Well, nothing gets improved.

Hostel for people that don't like to sleep.

When we arrived the hostel didn't seem too bad, beds comfy and rooms clean. But then, on a TUESDAY night, the music started. The bass sounded all night long, didn't even stop after 3 am and we weren't even provided with enough earmuffs for every bed in the room. Sleep is not possible under these conditions and even with something against the noise how do you expect guests to sleep when their ears vibrate from the bass below. And this was on the third floor! Very dissappointed, would not reccomend this place to anyone.
