Fantastic Hotel

Top class experience at Solymar Gran, the hotel itself is spotless throughout and situated within yards of the beach and plenty of restaurants & bars. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much for them. I celebrated my birthday while staying here and the hotel added a lovely touch by sending up a card a bottle of Cava and a cake on my birthday. Couldn't fault anything during our stay here.

You Will Not Want To Leave

If staying in Calpe, Spain, this is lovely hotel with excellent facilities right on the beach. Great location for exploring Calpe and the old town with supermarkets, cafes and restaurants all around you. We stayed for 7 days in a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with a full kitchen and seaview in the hotel complex so if we did not want to eat out, we could stay in.

Pool area small for size of hotel although there is also a rooftop one, small but handy when you can’t get a sunbed near the main pool as these seem to constantly be reserved with people’s towels - only for people to appear a couple of hours later. The lifeguards try to monitor this but we witnessed this every day we were there. Simply not enough sunbeds for the amount of people using the hotel, the hotel seemed to swell in numbers due to a large wedding party, didn’t realise this hotel accepted wedding parties, too many people but not enough space. Also fixed parasols caused a few disagreements with people as putting them up affected all who were sat near them. Hotel in a good location, modern and clean. A little expensive for drinks, 2.50 euros for a small water.

A fantastic experience.

This is a wonderful hotel. Had booked a Junior Suite and requested a high floor. On arrival we were told we had been upgraded. What can I say - Room 920 has a king size bed plus sofa and 2 chairs. There was complimentary champagne in the room and a lovely little dessert. The mini fridge contained some complimentary soft drinks together with a large bottle of water. There is a water dispensing unit by each lift area. Bathroom was immaculate with shower/jaccuzi bath and twin sinks. But what really makes this room outstanding is the corner balcony with amazing sea views from the 2 sun loungers plus 2 chairs small table and a sofa seat.
Booked bed and breakfast so can’t comment on other meals but the breakfast is amazing a buffet of everything you can wish for. Maria’s freshly made omelettes are delicious.
The infinity pool on the roof is lovely especially later in the afternoon when it is quieter. Did not use the main pool.
All staff are very friendly and cleaning is round the clock. I really can’t find any faults with this hotel.
