Coolest hostel chill and fun vibes

Amazing service , from ruby bar waiter . Very helpful with everything we needed. Such a beautiful spot and we had the best time playing games on the beach in the evening. Would definitely recommend to everyone wanting a change from el nido

I don't usually write negative reviews but I had to with this hostel. First off, the staff were great, no complaints there.
I never stayed in the dorm area as they were all booked so no comment there. I had a loft style room. The stairs up to it were very steep. I can see someone falling on the way down if they've had a few too many.
One of the steps was very rotted out and felt like it may give way any day.
I get we are in a somewhat remote area of Palawan but the power and wifi kept going off. With no cell coverage, kind of a bummer when trying to arrange your flights etc.
My last gripe was their food menu. Everytime I wanted to order anything, "Sorry sir we are all out" The amount of times I heard this for myself and other guests. Whoever is in charge of the food inventory needs to do better. You can walk to any other place on the beach and they have everything available on their menu.
I would stay here again but would have lower expectations for certain things.

Weird manager but nice beds

We went here because we were told it was the best mad monkey but I came away feeling disappointed. The service is terrible- 9/10 times whatever we ordered would come out wrong. They didn’t have most of the vegetarian options they have on their menu so it was a struggle for those in our group who didn’t eat meat. The manager there was old and a little creepy and kept getting involved in the games over cutting the reps who were doing a better job then them- you could feel there was a tension there and it felt odd he was getting involved in any case. There were also always about 5 men in there 50s staying there and getting involved in the drinking and sexually suggestive games which made the younger women a little uncomfortable. The power kept cutting out and in the rooms lots of the plugs and lights never worked.
The reason it doesn’t get lower stars however is because they were very generous with drinks at the bar when power was cut and the beds were comfortable, big and there were curtains- which is always a bonus for a hostel!
The hostel is so remote there really isn’t anything to do here other than sit on a beach and drink- which can be fun but not for too long

Mad Monkey

I enjoyed the stay and loved the cabbin, but the staff could be quiet rude at times, also it took a very long time to take our order and it wasn’t busy at all so we went somewhere else and by the time we got back all the waiters were doing tiktok videos, also all the staff from reception were doing music and dancing videos every night whilst we was there and was really loud . They did say at the begining of the stay that some night would be loud, but i thought they meant the people who were staying there not the staff itself. Apart from that all good. Kind regards.
