We are in Nelson every year for an AGM and try to stay at Hotel Nelson when it’s available. Every time we have been very happy with the service and value we have received. We were upgraded this time and our 2 bedroom apartment was huge. Very comfortable and close to town. Would definitely recommend

My husband and I spent one night here in transit between hokitika and Picton. Location was fairly central. The reception were very accommodating and helpful.

We were only at Hotel Nelson for about 12 hours, selecting it because the front desk was open later than most other options and we had a late flight. The room was spacious and we were able to use the pool (nice) the next morning.

Hotel was good, reasonable price. Room (no 27) backed onto kitchen and was a bit noisy early morning and late evening.
Restaurant on site did lovely evening meal but was chaotic at breakfast. First morning, they were understaffed and the buffet almost ran out, second morning buffet wasnt available until 8am (despite opening at 6.45am), had to order al la carte which was much more expensive and not great quality.
