Best hotel experience in 50 years of travel

I just retired from a 50 year career in sales and marketing and have literally stayed in thousands of hotels during my tenure, and I can honestly say this is the most favorable experience I have had. The location, service, room and location were all excellent for the four days we stayed, however, the staff went way beyond great service. 1st I lost my cell phone in a cab that fell out of my pocket when I was exiting and the hotel staff actually called cab companies and my phone was returned the next morning! 2nd, my wife left her wedding ring and some jewelry on the night stand in our room and the staff boxed it up (with a lot of red tape from Fed Ex international) and made sure it was on its way home to Florida. Big thank you to hotel staff manager Alejandro for service way above what is expected. This has been my best hotel experience in the 50 years I have travelled.

Poor communication, inconsistent house keeping

The housekeeping was quite inconsistent during our stay. We didn’t complain about it at the time, as we didn’t want to make an issue of it, but it was noticeable, especially on our last day when the rubbish bag was left in our room.
Then, after we checked out, I received a bill for breakfast even though it was included in our reservation. I have emailed the hotel regarding this but have had no response.
We also accidentally left a medicine pen in the fridge when we checked out. We called the hotel on our way to the airport and were told to email about it. We’ve now sent two emails and also contacted the hotel through Booking.com, but 24 hours later we still haven’t had a reply.
It’s really the lack of communication that has left us most disappointed. We understand that mistakes happen, and we weren’t looking to complain about every little thing, but we would have expected someone to at least respond to our messages. Overall, the customer service has been very disappointing.

Room 107 is unacceptable.

Room 107 is awful !
It is not a room. It is a closet with stairs ! The sink is in the middle of the room, so is the shower !
It is insulting to be given this room.

mercier amsterdam

super comfortable room in terms of size and layout, very clean and pleasant, vey pleasant common areas , amazing location in the city center of Amsterdam, dated TV and no gym access for price paid unacceptable

The breakfast was great. Nice staff. We had the honeymoon suite and there is mold around sink. Showing lots of wear and tear.
The room was spacious but the dark grime around sink concerned me
