Baja is a great place to get away from it all. With as much desert as coastline, the best part is when the two collide: it makes for an awesome place to set up camp and explore a slice of paradise.

I miss Baja, I don't go as often as I use to.. I think mainly because of the bad history, but I have heard things have improved tremendously. Sadly, the last time I did go, the slower economy was very noticeable and many businesses were shut down. I love driving down the coast and enjoying all that Baja has to offer. Relaxing, affordable beach-front stays, water sports, great seafood, local culture, nightlife, wine tasting & more. Make sure you are aware of your surroundings and haggle well, but other than that, do not fear Mexican people. Most love Americans and enjoy providing a memorable experience for travelers of all ages.

Long days in the sun, 4wheel driving, picking out seashells and sand dollars, floating in warm water with a beer, and stopping at friends' houses down the beach for homemade Mexican food and more beer. That's Baja California and it's awesome.I spent my summers and Christmas vacations here growing up, and still go back whenever I can.
