Vicenza is one of the main cities of Veneto and is famous in the world thanks to Andrea Palladio works, who lived in the city for all his life. Vicenza became famous in the 1500 for silk industry and now for leather. Really fascinating center.

Vicenza is known as “the city of Palladio” because of the many villas designed by Andrea Palladio, the 16th-century Renaissance architect who brought us the Palladian style. The town is a draw for architecture buffs for sure, but the rest of us will still appreciate its wonder.

Vicenza is a thriving and cosmopolitan city, with a rich history and culture, and many museums, art galleries, piazzas, villas, churches and elegant Renaissance palazzi. With the Palladian Villas of the Veneto in the surrounding area, and his renowned Teatro Olimpico (Olympic Theatre), the "city of Palladio" has been enlisted as UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994. It is also the Jewellery Capital of the Universe with many famous Italian luxury jewellery brands headquartered in Vicenza including the wonderful Venetian designer Roberto Coin.

Vicenza is a lovely, livable place with great train connections to Venice, Padua, and Verona. You can also take day trips to see the Palladio villas.
