The true Sardinian Welcoming in a traditional house museum with a suggestive atmosphere!!
At CasaDoria we found the true Sardinian Welcoming in a traditional house-museum with a suggestive atmosphere! It 'a traditional Sardinian house in the center of Castelsardo, very close to the main places of interest. The house is wonderful, it winds on three floors furnished with taste and entirely with pieces of Sardinian craftsmanship (when not really belonging to the family). Family photos and local re-enactments, hand-woven baskets and other locally crafted items give an antique and familiar feel at the same time to the common areas, culminating on the upper floor in a gorgeous large room with open sea views and beamed ceiling and cannizzada, fireplace, sitting area and a gorgeous breakfast table. CasaDoria is perfect for those who love authenticity, true traditions, family experiences that make the history of places. The owner welcomed us with great kindness and helpfulness, showed us the main attractions of Castelsardo and held back to satisfy our curiosity, showing great passion and commitment to her work. The room and bathroom are spacious, airy and equipped with all modern comforts such as fridge, kettle, air conditioning and TV perfectly integrated with the traditional style of the structure. Very organized self-service breakfast with everything you could want from an Italian breakfast and with some additions of savory products. Castelsardo is a charming town but not very accessible, being a maze of alleys and uphill steps, but with the directions provided before arrival it was all simple and the proximity of the structure to a free parking is extremely convenient. Last but not least, amazing value for money. Highly recommended!

The opposite of calm.
Jlenia is correct when she says she is very clear that her place has live music and events but omitted to say that you’re likely to have a full PA system set up under your bedroom window blasting 80’s cover hits by a band with a gaggle of drunk old people dad dancing from 9 till midnight. Then if you’re lucky you might be treated to yet more old drunken people playing a guitar and banging a drum serenading you with a rendition of tainted love. This was followed up by another drunk dude muttering loudly until 1:30 in the morning. The host was gracious enough to message when I asked at 11:30 what time the music went on to that it was very clear they are known for their music and that’s what they do, once to twice a week. The following evening was quiet until 4am when her dog started barking wanting to be let in. She was not in so my girlfriend had to go down and try to calm the dog down.
Did not see the host as she was not about and not really interested in what she has to say. Had to leave the very nice helper Gianluca with a promise to pay for the overpriced meal (€15 for three small
slices of aubergine in tomato sauce apparently parmigiana) as her card reader was either not functioning or couldn’t be operated on the understanding that she will message (and she has).
Wish I had read other similar reviews on Tripadvisor before staying. However, if you want a crusty place with a load of pseudo old disingenuous hippies laughing stupidly throughout the day thinking they’re living some kind of alternative lifestyle and pay over the top prices for the pleasure of it all then you’ve found the right place. If not stay well away.

Spend the night in the old fortress.
Slept here for two nights in a neat B&B in the old fortified town of Castelsardo. To find it we had to make an effort and ask the locals. The old fortress consists of many small streets and alleys. You have to park your car outside the fortress, so walking a bit in the heat is quite a challenge. Cozy room with a large common room on the top floor with full kitchen and fantastic views. Extensive breakfast.

Very authentic
We loved it! It's a bit difficult to find in all that narrow little streets but it worth to look for. Very authentic! Our room has a fireplace!!! Very clean, comfortable bed, fresh towels, bath next door...
