Gem on the Rhine River

A nice hotel/restaurant right on the Rhine river, with a stunning view & unique garden restaurant. Perfect setting for a summer evening, to enjoy a glass of Rhine wine & a meal, while overlooking the valley & river, while ships go by.
Also a beautiful village front & pedestrian zone along the length of the town, and connected to the bicycle path which goes along the Rhine. Leutesdorf is well worth the visit.

wonderful staff

We never actually stayed in the hotel, but used the beer garden and dining facilities. The place was recommended by a local couple. The views are tremendous, straight over the Rhine to the town of Andernach with passing boats, ducks etc. The beer garden is very popular and was well frequented during our visit by locals and tourists. Each night we watched delicious food being served whilst we drank our excellent locally produced wine...beautifully chilled and at a remarkable price for us - €11 a litre! The food we tried,a standard German menu, was in very generous portions and equally delicious (there is an option to order a smaller portion at a lower price, which I did, but there was still more than enough)
I am full of praise for the staff,who, apart from knowing our requirements after just one visit, went out of their way to help us. We suffered a broken bike lock and they searched the hotel for pliers, thus saving us a two mile walk carrying bikes.

Hier haben wir wehr gut gegessen

Heute war mein Geburtstag und wir kehrten im "Leyerscher Hof" zum Mittagessen ein. So ein fantastisches Mahl gibt es nur sehr selten. Alles war frisch zubereitet und das Steak meines Mannes aus bestem Fleisch. Auch mein Hirschgulasch war perfekt. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Netter Service - Rest okay

Wir haben hier auf einer Wandertour übernachtet. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, auch am weiteren Abend war die Wirtin freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Zimmer: Die Zimmer im Nebengebäude waren groß, sauber und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Insgesamt ist das Interieur aber schon in die Jahre gekommen. Das einzig moderne ist ein verhältnismäßig kleiner Flachbildfernseher. Das "Bad" ist winzig, die Dusche und das WC füllen den Raum fast vollständig aus. Waschbecken ist im Zimmer.
Wir haben dann auch im Hause zu Abend gegessen - okay, aber mehr auch nicht. Die Portion Spießbraten war zwar riesig, aber das Fleisch für meinen Geschmack deutlich zu trocken. Die Bratkartoffeln waren gut, der gemischte Salalt bestand aus grünem Salat und ein paar Gurkenscheiben in geschmacksarmer (Fertig-?) Sauce. Der lokale Wein war gut und preiswert.
Fazit: Für eine Übernachtung gut, fürs Essen würde ich keinen Umweg in Kauf nehmen. Wie das im Sommer aussieht, wenn der Biergarten offen ist, kann ich natürlich nicht sagen.

Schon besser gegessen!

Wir waren mit 3 Personen im Leyscher Hof zum Abendessen. Dass die Wirtin die netteste und freundlichste sein soll können wir nicht bestätigen. Das Essen war auch nichts besonderes. Der Fisch viel zu trocken, die Salzkartoffeln zum Teil weiß und glasig (event. vom Vortag und wieder erwärmt), die Salatsoße zu sauer. Die glasigen Kartoffeln haben wir reklamiert und wurden dafür mehr oder weniger angeschnauzt. Soviel zum Thema nett und freundlich. Leyscher Hof bestimmt nie wieder!
