The place is highly recommended.

We spent one night as a couple in transit at the Hotel Gasthof Löwen in Wankheim. The hotel is very nice and has a parking space. The staff was very nice, unfortunately we didn't come in until 13:30 but we could then have lunch in the restaurant before. The rooms were bright and chic and the bathroom was also appealing. A hairdryer was also available. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. The coffee machine offered 4 different types of coffee. The buffet was very clean. We highly recommend the hotel.

Please do not book

For what do you think a house gets stars? Dust on the closets, stains on the bed sheet, breakfast buffet under all ....? Rudeness or not a single word from check in to check out? Oh sorry I forgot I was almost kicked out of the room because I had missed the checkout (thanks again for the extremely unfriendly conversation - and actually the only one with the owner). I then went into the lobby to wait for my daughter and put down the key, which was immediately removed without a word or eye contact from the owner. I also overheard a conversation between owner and staff (which was very friendly by the way - little tip find you another employer) - absolutely no leadership quality.

Washing machine disturbs sleeping at night

If you give people a room to sleep in your basement and you know they want to get up at 3:00 a.m. the next day, it's not nice to turn on the washing machine at 10:00 p.m. 
Besides, this room was not as equipped as in the online description.

Noisy simple rooms

We stayed at the Hotel Löwen for one night for a short vacation. Our simple room was clean, but I noticed the very crumpled bed linen. You don't know whether the sheets were actually changed. We had a wet room with a shower curtain and no separate cubicle, so we limited ourselves to a quick wash. The room was directly above the pizzeria. In the evening, you could hear the guests on the restaurant terrace for a while longer. That was fine for us, as we were still awake at that time. But around 11 p.m. the racket really started:
The restaurant had long since closed. A particular group of French fitters, who were also staying there, were now drawing attention to themselves with constant, very loud shouting and laughter right in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, we had the impression that we had ended up in a dump in the middle of a notorious Paris district. When this disrespectful behavior didn't seem to stop long after midnight, I took the liberty of asking the men in English to be quiet. In response, I got even more shouting and jeering. They then left for a few hours with screeching tires, only to reappear very loudly at around 4 a.m. and disappear into their rooms. Unfortunately, the other hotel guests had to endure this behavior. The hotelier family was not on site or did not care. We slept very poorly.
The breakfast buffet was pretty simple. Many of the dishes mentioned on the website (fish, canapés, egg dishes, croissants) were not available. Everything else made a poor impression on me in terms of quality (baked rolls, orange juice, sausage, etc.).
Of course, you have to take into account that the price was cheap. If in doubt, I would rather pay a little more in the future.

Lovely comfortable stay

We stayed one night on route. A lovely room in a quiet area. Friendly owners. The attached restuarant is a great covenience with an italian menu, good prices and great food and service. Breakfast was a nice spread with plenty of choices
