Good hotel at a peaceful location

I lived in this area for a certain time and Bad Helmstedt used to be my favourite getaway place so when looking for a hotel near Helmstedt this one was a logical choice. It doesn't look really tempting from outside besides its amazing location next to the lake. But I was very nicely surprised by a hotel quality. So bad I visited it during Corona time when traveling is so limited. Except rooms there was nothing open for guests and even the reception was not occupied most of the time. But everything was well prepared for guests arrival and there was no problem with service.
My room was simple yet comfortable and very clean. Obviously renovated recently. Breakfast was rich. I had to eat it in my room but had enough of everything, including coffee, juice, choice of ham and salami, cheese, jam, honey... In those short occasions I could talk to the staff they were very friendly and helpful. I hope the hotel will be open when I travel to Helmstedt next month and I can use their service again.

I would rather sleep in a tent in Iraq!!!

The Hotel is very outdated and needs some serious restoration! We preordered food and everything, but still waited 90 minutes to get the starters! Don’t expect any internet connection!!!! Go anywhere else!!!!!!!!!

Helmstedt Resort Hotel

Far from city location, actually it's near some forest area. Quite good (traditional) food & beer. It will be nice if you plan to stay far from city and have your own car. I got there during autumn, and the room was warm enough. If you want to stay in traditional germany house, this could be your choice.

So friendly! Very nice hotel great food, lovely German lady

We are travelling from Latvia to Brussels on a works charity event, running 100 marathons. This is day 5 of our trip, everyone was so tired from running 19 miles each today and the lovely German lady put the sauna spa on so we went and relaxed after a long hard day, the swimming pool is clean and relaxing, the lady accommodated us for everything we needed, making extra large meals for everyone and just being generally a lovely person! The rooms are basic, squeaky beds but comfortable. Quite a large hotel could get lost easily! But for our needs it was perfect, I would come back again !!

Catastophic

What can we say? The worst experience in modern times...
We only stopped here by chance on our way to Berlin. Big mistake. Ghost hotel. No bar. No restaurant. No coffee tea or mini bar in room.
And we were shouted at... Apparently they lock the doors at 22.00. Well we went to town to grab something to eat and returned 23.00. The hotel was closed. We rang the bell. The old lady-manageress appeared after 10 mins screaming at us that we woke her up...
Breakfast is basic, all else is less than that. As if they don't want people to really come. And indeed the place was empty in mid July
