Thuringia, again and again in this hotel.

We stayed for the second time in this beautiful hotel. As before, we were fully satisfied with the stay. The boss is courteous and very friendly. The other staff always knew how to convince with kind words. The rooms had a warm and cozy decor with an excellent bed. A tray and a large TV were part of the decor. The bathroom was spacious and always warmed automatically. Especially the food in the restaurant must be praised because they consistently impressed with excellent taste. Unfortunately, the beer was a little too warm on some days, a few degrees colder would have convinced, but that is a matter of taste.
We will be happy to come back and can only warmly recommend the place.

Some things are good, some things are not

Stayed here for 4 nights via a hotel deal. The price was very good, and the booking included breakfast and dinner.
The hotel is in the middle of the woods, perfect for people who want to explore the many walking trails. The hotel itself is pretty old and a little run down... but you can hardly complain for the price you pay.
The room I had (a real single room, with a single bed) was small, but equipped with all the basics... and even with a tablet with tourist information! The bathroom is updated and looks nice... but the room itself feels a bit like staying at your grandparents. Old carpet, old furniture, old curtains... could do with a remodel.
The breakfast buffet is large and well organised. The coffee isn't great, but the friendly breakfast waitress makes up for it. Good way to start your day.
The dinner (3 courses, with just 2 main course options) is adequate. Not very good, but not bad either... just ok. You have to notify the restaurant in advance which main course you want to have the day after... I can understand why, but if feels a bit odd.
This hotel would have gotten a 4 out of 5 from me... if I hadn't received a bill upon arriving home. Apparently, parking is paid for at this hotel (which wasn't mentioned upon check-in, neither upon check-out) and the city tax still needed to be paid. Would have been nice if they told me upon check-out, so I could settle that... but instead I got a bill by post a week after. Not so happy with the way they handled this issue.

Tolle Gegend, sehr ruhig mitten im Wald gelegen… sehr nettes, zuvorkommendes Personal… am Hotel selbst wurde wahrscheinlich seit den 80ern nichts mehr gemacht… Zimmer sehr kalt, Heizung schaltet sich automatisch ab, dadurch nachts mega kalt… Betten/Matratzen durchgelegen…
