On route to North Sea

We chose Aurich and this hotel as our home base to explore East Frisia (North Sea). We asked for a room in the back at the end of a long hallway. It was spacious, contemporary, simple, clean, with a nice view of a garden. The bathroom was rather small, actually more like tiny. Breakfast was a typical German buffet, enough to fill our stomachs until we reached the picturesque towns by the sea with its many good restaurants. In Aurich we ate our best meal at a fish restaurant nearby, on the same street.

What a wonderful surprise

I came to Aurich because my great-grandmother was born here, and I chose this hotel from Internet listings based mostly on price. (Dates of visit May 19-21, 2013). It is absolutely lovely. The couple who own and operate the hotel couldn't have been nicer or more helpful, and the hotel is lovely in that old, gracious, German way that I remember from decades ago. The dining rooms are so filled with morning light that the day always starts right. For tea drinkers, the East Frisian tea setup that comes with breakfast is a delight (and I paid 6 Euros for the same thing downtown one afternoon!). Weather didn't permit us to enjoy the perfectly groomed garden in the back, but anyone who travels there in warmer months should definitely try it. Top ratings, too, to the dinner meal at the restaurant. The menu is limited, but the portions are "normal" (not the huge, wasteful meals I've had at some restaurants) and cooked in the old-fashioned way. The only negatives are that there is no elevator for guests staying on the second (to Germans, the first) floor, and there is no public transportation to Aurich, about ten minutes away.

Kurzurlaub in Osfriesland

Super Hotel. Wir hatten ein Apartment und es war super! Sehr geräumig, ruhig und sauber. Frühstück war üppig und sehr lecker. Personal sehr freundlich. Zentral gelegen für einen Besuch in Ostfriesland! Wir kommen wieder!

flexibel, zuvorkommend, freundlich

Wir wollten zuerst in eine andere Unterkunft, die jedoch unmöglich war (verraucht, verwohnt, ungemütlich). Daher suchten wir am Abend in der Gegend eine Ausweichmöglichkeit und das Hotel Waldquelle hat uns sogar noch ein Abendessen serviert, obwohl die Küche bereits aufgeräumt hat.
Man hat sich sehr bemüht, uns zufriedenzustellen und es ist ihnen mehr als gelungen.
Für uns ist das Hotel eine absolute Empfehlung und sollten wir in der Gegend nochmals eine Unterkunft benötigen, müssen wir nicht mehr lange überlegen um zu wissen, wo wir uns wohlfühlen werden.

Ohne Einschränkung empfehlenswert!

Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb und hat ausreichend Parkplätze zur Verfügung. Es wird toll geführt: wir sind sehr herzlich begrüßt worden und das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet. Alles war angenehm; die Bäder waren neu und die Zimmer prima ausgestattet. Wir werden sicher wieder dort absteigen. Die Restaurantempfehlung des Betreibers war im übrigen sehr gut.
