When I arrived at the hotel, I had to carry my two large suitcases by myself. No one offered to help me. The counter lady even asked me to push my luggage one by one to the counter, comparing to Marriot Adelaide, the Marrio”s counter lady was immediately to help me to push one of it… Totally different service even though they are in the same line!
The Sofitel staff at the counter never smiled and did not seem welcoming at all. In the service industry, staff should aim to improve the guest experience, not make it worse.
Most importantly, the housekeeping team rejected my request for extra water. They only provide two 330ml bottles per day and said it was due to hotel policy. They even asked me to buy water outside. This was a huge disappointment. i would not expect this is how Sofitel Adelaide treats their guess….
My Sofitel dream has been completely destroyed. I would not consider staying at Sofitel anywhere in the world again if they cannot fulfill such a simple request like providing water.

First impressions matter greatly, and I apologise that the warm welcome you expected and deserved was not met by our team. I have also spoken with our housekeeping department leader in ensuring our team is providing the amenities our guests need. As a luxury hotel, we should always aim to say yes to any request that we are able to provide, it is a luxury mindset to strive to say yes and only if we are unable, we look for alternatives rather than asking our guests to find an alternative.

The service was exceptional from the moment we arrived, the rooms and decor are STUNNING, and the amenities (TV, bathroom, lights etc.) are super modern and great to use. The team also went the extra mile to make our anniversary one to cherish with a cute little gift in our room on arrival. Will definitely be staying again (and soon!).

Not Bonjour more like Quelle Horreur
No welcome
No warmth
No solutions
No idea really
Then when we extended our stay to accommodate our new flight they were less than accommodating
The payment process was on the fritz and of course that was our fault
They rectified eventually after I suggested a solution which they ignored
We were left feeling disrespected disdained and deflated
Now let’s talk about the car parking
They charge $30 for a car park which charges $15 a day hmmm
Then there is the weird one way streets that make it difficult to navigate
So much for the bonjour it’s more like Quelle Horreur
