Navarre, formally known as the Chartered Community of Navarre, or sometimes, Navarra, is one of the autonomous communities in the north of Spain, bordering the Basque Country, La Rioja, and Aragon in Spain, and Aquitaine in France. Its capital, Pamplona, sits on its centre, overseeing the other cities that comprise the small region.

Catedral de Santa Maria la Real y Museo Diocesano – Pamplona's well known cathedral is an eye-candy on its own right – combining a Neoclassical facade with a Gothic interior. Other medieval churches nearby include San Nicolas and San Saturnino, a former fortress and Christian temple.

Museo de Navarra – Housed in a former medieval hospital, this museum holds an eclectic collection of archaeological finds, a selection of art, including Goya's Marques de San Adrian, and other exhibitions.

The Cuidadela and the Rincon del Caballo Blanco – the Ciudadela, or the citadel, is one of Spain's and Europe's best examples of a Renaissance fortress, with its interior holding art exhibitions and occasional cultural events, especially during the summer months. Meanwhile, the Rincon del Caballo Blanco is a bar holding a charming viewpoint in the heart of Pamplona's walls, the rivers, and the lower parts of the city.

How to get around within Navarre

The best way to enjoy the cities in Navarre is by foot. Music and wonderful citizens fill the streets and sometimes it is enough to just take the surroundings in and check on the way of locals' way of living. Moreover, tourist destinations in the region, especially in the city of Navarre, lie within the immediate vicinity of the city, so walking is the best way. Taxis are also available, although traffic jams may make travel time longer than necessary. More so, other modes of transportation such as trains, trams, subways, and buses are all available through the extensive systems established in the area and all the other parts of Spain. Travellers are also very much encouraged to travel through the metro to transfer from one city or region to another.
