What can you do in Hyderabad?
Hyderabad is more of a business hub than a tourist’s haven, but don’t let this city fool you. It is the second largest city in the district of Sindh and there are all sorts of attractions to keep you occupied should you be stopping in this city.
One of its best features are the bustling marketplaces that litter the city, such as the Chotki Gitti and the Shahi Bazaar where you can indulge your shopping habit by picking up local wares such as clothes, jewellery and foods. Though if you want to partake in a few traditional delicacies, then head for the Chandni Market.
There are museums such as the Sindh Museum where you can learn about the Indus valley people and civilization, which will give you a great base for exploring the rest of the city. Outside of the metropolis is Lake Keenjhar, a manmade lake built as early as the 12th century to be a reservoir. Now it is home to a large variety of wildlife, especially birds, and makes for a wonderful escape from the goings-on of the busy city.
When should you go?
Hyderabad has pretty consistent temperatures. Expect averages in the winter months (December to February) to be in the late teens/early twenties, and for summer months to hover around 31-34°C.
