Alaska is the 49th and the largest state to join the United States of America, located northwest of North America and neighbouring Canadian territory. Pack Creek Brown Bear Viewing Area – Bears are the ultimate symbol of wildlife in Alaska, and Admiralty Island in particular is known as the “Fortress of the Bears.” Tourists and locals can view brown bears in their natural habitat at Pack Creek, wherein no bear nor human has been harmed since it was managed.

Eagle River Nature Center – For the truly outdoorsy types who revel in hiking, the Eagle River Nature Center offers many trekking tours with difficulty ranging from beginner to difficult. For example, those touring with children and even persons with disability (it's wheelchair accessible) can opt for the Rodak Nature Loop, with a trail that's less than a mile yet offers a great view of beavers, salmons, and other wildlife. On the other hand, the Eagle River Ford Point can be a challenge even for experienced hikers.

How to get around within Alaska

In terms of road transportation, Alaska is considered as one of the least-connected states. Fun fact: its own state capital, Juneau, is not even accessible by road! Car rentals are still available though and are a great option if one plans to stay in the Interior and South-central Alaska. It allows you more freedom in terms of planning your itinerary and the ability to option to stop almost anytime, anywhere for some sightseeing. To make the trip even more comfortable, RV and Motorhome rentals are available as well. In Alaska, parking an RV is not a problem in most public areas, parks, and of course, public or private campgrounds. Air taxi and water taxis are other options and are great for covering larger grounds, but the former can be quite costly compared to the latter. Other than that, buses are the way to go if time is not an issue, as it is affordable and is comfortable enough for long-distance travels.

Flights to Alaska arrive in and depart from one of the major airports in the US, the Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport. There aren't too many airlines that use the airport, but among the ones that do are Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Condor, Delta Air Lines, Frontier Airlines, Grant Aviation, Icelandair, JetBlue Airways, Sun Country Airlines, United Airlines, US Airways, and Yakutia Airlines.
