Nepal’s premier aviation hub is the Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), and is situated 6km from the centre of Kathmandu. Access the airport on buses, shuttles or taxi services.

There are over 30 direct destinations on offer from this airport, primarily to cities in the Middle East and Asia.

There are lots of international carriers that run routes to Kathmandu, these include Air India, Air China, Oman Air, Jet Airways, China Eastern, Etihad Airways, Thai Airways, Dragonair, Silkair, Air Arabia, and Korean Air. Buddha Air is the primary airline for domestic routes.

Popular destinations from Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport

Fly to the far ends of beautiful Nepal from Kathmandu, such as Pokhara (PKR), a city situated in a gorgeous valley, with serene lakes, and a whole host of adventure sports you can engage in. Or visit Bharatpur (BHR) in the Terai, where you can strike out on a jungle safari tour and see elephants, rhinos, and try to spy the mysterious tigers that live here.

Outside of Nepal, you can travel two hours on a plane and be in the spiritual city of Lhasa (LXA) in high and arid Tibet, eat pani puri on the streets of Mumbai (BOM), or tour the temples of Thailand’s Bangkok (BKK).
