Flights from Faro

The sun-kissed coast of Portugal is the location of one of the nation’s most important hubs, in the city of Faro. Explore the destinations you can fly to by popping the search term ‘everywhere’ into the terminus bar, and selecting a city that stirs your traveller’s soul.

Settle on the best date to travel using our calendar tool, which lets you look at the changing fares throughout a month, as opposed to just a single day. If you’re flexible enough you will find yourself booking the best deal of the year.

However, don’t be downhearted if you must stick to your dates, as our search engine is dedicated to finding the cheapest rates from every operator. It also scours the internet so you can compare and contrast the operators, the connections, the duration of the overall journey, and what time of day the flight leaves. Find your way to the holiday of your dreams with Skyscanner.

Finding flights from Faro Airport (FAO)

A stone’s throw away from the town of Faro, a mere 4km, the Faro Airport (FAO) is the most important airport serving Portugal’s coastal Algarve region. Shuttles, taxis and buses can take you to the terminal buildings of Faro’s airport within about 10 minutes.

You’ll find that Faro operates flights to roughly 35 cities, all over Europe, and these are flown by airlines including: Ryanair, Transavia, easyJet, airberlin, Aer Lingus, TAP Portugal, Lufthansa, SAS, Luxair, and Monarch.

Popular destinations from Faro Airport

Learn about the incredible part Portugal paid in world history by visiting its museum, monument, and gallery-packed capital of Lisbon (LIS). Try different kinds of port wine, the famous export of Porto (POR), the river that sits along the banks of the River Douro. Both of which can be flown to in around an hour.

Consider flying a little further afield on weekend breaks around the continent by booking a trip to the Venice of the North, Stockholm (ARN) in Sweden. You can find yourself touring the colourful Old Town, or the Royal Palace in around four hours. You can also spend a week or a weekend in the charming city of Dublin (DUB), following the footsteps of James Joyce, along the River Liffey, and into the friendly pubs where you can enjoy a Guinness.

Destinations far and wide cannot be flown to directly from this airport, but Faro has excellent connections to huge international hubs that will offer you routes out to the varied terrain of the Americas, to the ancient cities of Asia, or to the remarkable landscapes of Africa. The most comprehensive hubs are in London (LHR, LGW), Paris (CDG), and Frankfurt (FRA).
