Where to rent a car in Sunshine Coast
As a major tourist destination, Sunshine Coast is littered with several car rental companies. Most, if not all are located along the coast, along Route 8 and near the Sixth Avenue. What to expect when renting a car from Sunshine Coast
Sunshine Coast is big enough to be a city but small enough to be navigated. Roads here are paved and clean, and are rarely busy, even during peak hours and 'rush hours'. Probably the only issue is that all main roads only have two-way traffic, and has sudden dents and curves. Expert drivers may breeze through these areas, but amateur drivers should be careful. The major roads in service around the area include State Highways 1, 12, 10 and 11, which runs the areas if Matauri Bay, Kerikeri, Taupo Bay, Hihi, Mangamuka, Peria, the Omahuta Forest, and many others. Most of the commercial services can be found in Kerikeri areas just across the Sunshine Coast Airport though, including but not limited to restaurants, bed and breakfast, banks and ATMs, and others. Sunshine Coast is connected to Brisbane via the Bruce Highway. It is also served by the Nicklin Way and Sunshine Motorway which are major arterial roads.
Getting to your destination
An ideal starting point for day trips, Kerikeri is the best starting point when accessing areas such as Waitangi, Paihia, and Rusell. It also is a wonder itself, as it has several destinations such as the Puketi Forest. Kerikeri can be found just across the airport, and can be reached by crossing the State Highway 10 towards the Kerikeri Road.
Fan of Stunning views over the Sunshine Coast and water activities await travellers who visit Paihia, a town in the Far North of North Island in New Zealand. Reach Paihia by accessing State Highway 10, and then driving for the next 6.7 kilometres. When the said distance ends, turn left onto State Highway 11 and proceed to the destination.
Home to the Waitangi National Reserve, Waitangi is a small but refreshing destination to be in. Visit this place to encounter some of the greenest areas near Sunshine Coast and do some trail walking. To reach Waitangi, drive through State Highway 10 and then Te Karuwha Parade to reach the destination.
