Car Hire in Bali

A 4x4 is essential when travelling around the east or central areas of Cameroon. Though it can be expensive to rent a car in the town of Bali, you will need it to make the most of your stay since public transportation can be infrequent. Having a vehicle at your disposal for a certain duration is great because you can travel independently, and you don't need to learn about the city's public transportation system.
Where to hire a car in Bali
There is no information available regarding car rentals specifically serving Bali. Major car rental companies that operate in Cameroon include Europcar and Avis. These providers are located within the large cities in the country, including Yaoundé and Douala, and offer car rental options that allow you to bring the rental vehicle all the way to Bali, located west of Bamenda.
What to expect when hiring a car from Bali
Car rental services in the area can be quite expensive but are very useful. You will most likely need them on excursions to and from Bali. Note that paved roads are rare outside of the major cities.
Getting to your destination
Yaoundé is the capital of Cameroon, and therefore houses government offices, the central market, and a few hotels. Some of the places of interest in the city include the Cathédrale Notre Dame des Victoires, the Basilique Marie-Reine-des-Apôtres, the Cameroon Art Museum, the Cameroon National Museum, and the Blackitude Museum.
From Bali, you can either take N6 and N4 or just N4. Yaoundé is a little over five hours away.
Douala is Cameroon's largest city and its commrecial capital. Boulevard de la Liberté in particular is filled with shops and restaurants. Other places to see include the Douala Memorials, Douala Water Park, Place du Gouvernement, and Doual'art. The nearest beach is Limbe. Douala is also the place to buy some local handicrafts, painted masks, headscarfs, and local chocolate.
You can reach Douala via N6, N8, or N5 from Bali.
Ngaoundere is a city that serves as an important communications hub in Cameroon. Places to see are Lamido Palace and the Lamido Grande Mosque. It is also possible to climb mount Ngaoundéré or visit the waterfalls about an hour south of the city.
It's a long drive, but it's possible to get to Ngaoundere from Bali by car via the N6.
