Driving around Kingston Airport

There’s a good road network around Kingston Airport. Front Road is a smaller lakeside road that runs from the airport towards Kingston city centre. It’s also easy to join route 33, a main road travelling into Kingston and also westbound along the lake towards Bath and Prince Edward. The 401 freeway is also close by, with routes northeast towards Montreal and southwest towards Toronto.
In Canada, cars drive on the right hand side of the road. Roads are generally very well-maintained and signposted. In contrast to driving rules in the UK, you are allowed to turn right on a red traffic light signal, unless there are signs telling you otherwise. To do this safely, you have to come to a complete stop before proceeding with caution.
