Driving around Surat Thani Airport
There are no major motorways to contend with once you leave the airport. The AH2 main road is a single-carriageway. It can be a bit chaotic, however, especially as you get closer to the city. Keep your wits about you and drive defensively. You may need to choose a car hire package which includes a sat-nav system, as it can be quite easy to get lost. Traffic in Thailand drives on the left-hand side of the road, just like in the UK, so that's one less thing to get used to.
