Petrol stations near Muscat Airport
If you select a 'full to full' car rental agreement you will need to hand your car back with a full tank.
There's a Shell petrol station on 18th November Street just a few minutes to the east of the airport. There's another Shell station just Sultan Qaboos Street. Turn right instead of left into the airport to reach it.
Driving around Muscat Airport
The arterial highway, Sultan Qaboos Street, runs past the airport. From here it's only a few minutes drive to the Muscat Expressway (a major motorway). The roads are large and fast, so make sure you're comfortable with your car before leaving the airport parking lot. Traffic in Oman drives on the right side of the road.

This pleasant seaside town is slowly becoming a popular tourist resort. Bull-butting events and historic forts offer a glimpse into Omani culture, while the high end hotels and restaurants offer western style distractions.
It takes just over half an hour to drive to Barka from Muscat Airport. Most hotels have car parking for guests. On-street parking is also available, and there are some surface car parks near the beach.
