What to expect when hiring a car from Alicante Airport
Alicante–Elche Airport is located in the municipality of Elche, 9 km southwest of Alicante, 10 km east of Elche, 70 km north of Murcia, and 160 km south of Valencia. The airport is connected to Elche via A-70, and to Alicanta via N-332.

Driving around Alicante Airport

Parking is prohibited in areas of Alicante where the curb is painted yellow. There are areas with metered parking, and these are marked in blue. You can either purchase a ticket from a machine nearby or from the attendant present, if there is one. Remember to always have with you your EU driver's license (or international driver's license if you're not from a country that is part of the European Union), your passport, and the vehicle's registration and certificate of insurance. The latter two should be provided by the car rental company upon acquiring the vehicle.
Getting to your destination
Murcia is the capital of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia. Its main points of interest are the Castillian Gothic style Cathedral of Murcia, the Plaza Cardinal Belluga, the colourful Bishop's Palace dating from the 19th century, Santa Clara monastery, the Malecón boulevard, the Almudi Palace, and Monteagudo Castle.
From the airport, take the A-7 to Murcia.
The town of Novleda is a major centre of the marble industry. Its tourist attractions include the monastery of Santa Maria Magdalena, dating from the 19th century, the Moorish Castle of the Mola, the Museum of Modernism, and several natural and salty lakes nearby.
There are three possible routes to Novelda from the airport: via A70, via A-31, or via A-70 and CV-84.
The coastal town of Santa Pola is surrounded by Elche. The main tourist attraction here is the 11 km stretch of beaches, as well as the Salinas de Santa Pola y Elche Natural Park, the Fortress-Castle in the centre of the town, and the salt evaporation pond Salinas de Santa Pola.
