Zurich Airport, Switzerland

Zurich Airport, also known as Kloten Airport, is located around 10km by road north of the city centre of Zurich - A journey which takes around 10 minutes by car, or about 15 minutes by train. The airport is the largest international airport in Switzerland, and has been operating at its current location since 1945.

Zurich Airport is well connected to the city centre and to other nearby cities by road and rail public transport links. Swiss Federal Airport links offers daily rail departures from the airport to almost every major location throughout Switzerland, making it easy to get to and from the airport. The SBB travel centre is located at Check-in area 3.

There are also special bus services to transport passengers to the alps, as well as regional bus and tram services. The no. 10 tram runs directly from the airport to Zurich's main railway station. For those staying in hotels in Zurich, various hotels offer their own shuttle bus services to and from the airport, so check with your accommodation provider as to whether they offer this service for guests.

Driving hide 

Parking is available at the airport. Travellers may also rent cars if they wish to drive themselves around.

Trains hide 

Passengers may use the Swiss Federal Railway. Tickets can be purchased from machines in Halls 1 and 2, as well as next to the travel centre. Trains link the airport with numerous destinations in Zurich.

Buses hide 

There are a number of buses which connect the airport to Glatt Valley, Zurcher Unterland and Zurich Oerlikon regions. The waiting time between buses ranges from 10 minutes to an hour in the bus terminal located within the airport.

Taxi hide 

Only official airport taxis are allowed to operate at the airport. Drivers of these taxis have been trained and some can speak multiple languages. Payment may be made in cash or credit card.
