Bathurst Airport

The Bathurst Regional Airport is situated in the bilingual province of New Brunswick, Canada, and services the small town of Bathurst. As the biggest city in north New Brunswick, Bathurst Airport has good connections to the largest city in eastern Canada, Montreal.

This compact airport has one terminal building, and not much in the way of amenities and services. This may change, as the Bathurst council and community is hoping to see their expansion project gain the funding it needs to improve the airport’s facilities.

However, in terms of accessibility, this is a great little hub; sitting less than 6km outside of the town centre, Bathurst offers flights twice daily from Bathurst to Montreal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport (YUL), which are operated by Air Canada Express.

This is an excellent connection for visitors and residents alike, as Montreal Airport has a huge destination list that they fly to, from Asia, to the Middle East, to Central America, the Caribbean, as well as to the United States and to Europe.

The information presented above is accurate as of March 3, 2016.

Driving hide

Canada is made for driving, and New Brunswick is a beautiful province, with lots of coastal and river roads to explore, such as the Acadian Coastal Drive and the Miramichi River Route. Renting a car shouldn’t be a problem, as there is a Budget Car Rental agency that runs out of Bathurst Airport.

They offer a variety of vehicle types, though you’ll find that most transmissions will be automatic. The drive into the main town shouldn’t take you more than 15 minutes in light traffic, and is fairly simple. Follow Amos Street to St. Andre Road, which turns into St. Anne Road, and then continue on St. Anne until you reach the coast and then turn right on St. Peter Avenue (NB-134 S).

Continue straight onto Harbourview Blvd, and then continue on King Avenue. From here you can take Main Street to Murray Avenue, and then you must turn right on St. Andrew Street which will take you directly into the town centre.

Taxi hide

There is a taxi service that operates in Bathurst town, and they send cars out to the airport. The journey all-in-all should cost about 20CAD ($20). Please note, it is likely you will need to call the taxi company in advance of your flight, or give them a bell directly after you land for a pick up at the airport.
