London Airport

The London International Airport is situated just 9km outside of London, a charming city in southwest Ontario. Formally an airfield, YXU Airport has developed into a comprehensive air transit facility that sees tens of thousands of passengers pass through its gates each year.

London International only has one main terminal building, but you will find that there are plenty of amenities that you can make use of pre and post flight. There is an ATM, access to free wireless internet throughout the terminal, a coat check, and special assistant services.

If you’re hungry when you arrive at YXU, then you can pick up a morning coffee and a pastry at the popular Canadian coffee chain, Tim Horton’s, which is stationed before the security checkpoints. Once you’re through security, if you’re still feeling peckish, you can sit down and enjoy a meal at On The Fly, a cute café that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you want more of a dining experience, then head to Katana Kafe, where you can look out onto the main runway and tuck into a Bistro-style meal.

If you are stuck for something to do, and have bags of time before you fly, then wander over to the historical display, which charts the airport’s history since the 1920s. If you’re with your family, kids will love the T-33 Silver Star Aircraft that is on display in the entranceway of the airport.

Please note all information is current as of March 2016.
