Port Vila Airport

Port Vila Airport, also known as Bauerfield International, is the main airport serving Vanuatu. It's located six kilometres from the centre of the capital, Port Vila, and is the hub for the national airline, Air Vanuatu.

The airport may be small by international standards, but its runway has the capacity for large aircraft and the facility itself is spread across two terminals: International and Domestic.

The International Terminal handles flights to and from Australia, New Zealand and other Pacific destinations with airlines such as Aircalin, Air Niugini, Fiji Airwaysand Solomon Airlines. The Domestic Terminal is exclusively occupied by Air Vanuatu, which also offers international flights from the other terminal. The terminals are close together and easy to walk between.

Port Vila Airport is only open from 7am–6pm daily and its facilities are fairly basic. For your money needs, you can get cash from ANZ ATMs or exchange currency and cash traveller's cheques without commission at the National Bank. You can also buy duty-free goods in the departure lounge and grab a bite to eat before or after your flight from the snack bars.
