Valencia Airport

Valencia Airport is a local airport found in Manises, Valencia, in Spain. The airport is the 8th busiest Spanish airport in terms of passengers and second in the region after Alicante. It is situated some 8 km west of the city centre of Valencia, and is just at the city centre of Manises. The airport is owned and operated by Aena Aeropuertos, and serves as the hub for Air Nostrum.

A new regional terminal, expanded car parking facilities, extended runway, and apron area has been constructed in time for the 2007 America's cup, with Spain and Aena anticipating the additional passengers coming and flying down to the area. Currently, the airport handles at least 4-5 million passengers per annum, covering at least 15 European countries (connections) and several domestic destinations. The airport uses a single runway measuring 3,215 metres, with the second runway inactive as of the moment.

Destinations from the airport include Palma de Mallorca, Paris, Rome, Bucharest, Vienna, Munich, Moscow, Ibiza, London, Lisbon, Istanbul, and other European cities. Carriers include Air Berlin, Air Europa, Alitalia, Blue Air, Lufthansa, Ryanair, S7 Airlines, Smartwings, TAP Portugal, and many others.

The airport has two terminals housed in a single building. The first level or the P1, houses the Departure lounge, check-in desks, and a couple of boarding gates. The ground level or P0, houses the arrivals area, the baggage claims (which is divided to domestic and EU, regional, and international non-Schengen flights). The regional aviation terminal is on a separate floor, catering to general aviation flights and other scheduled regional flights.

Services and Facilities

Aside from food, drink, and retail concessions, the main terminal and the airport offers Information desks, banking facilities, meeting rooms, lost luggage handlers, car rental (depending on the passenger airline), first aid station, police station, and a tourist desk. The airport also provides services for persons with disabilities, persons with reduced mobility, senior citizens, and pregnant women and their children.
