Toulouse-Blagnac Airport (TLS)

Serving the delightful city of Toulouse, the Toulouse Blagnac Airport (TLS) is one of the major airports in the country, seeing upwards of seven million passengers a year. You can find it northwest of downtown Toulouse, it makes for an excellent entry point for exploring the southwestern reaches of France.

This airport has one terminal, but you can find everything you need here. There is a comprehensive information desk, and banking facilities that include cash machines and bureaux de change counters. You can also stay connected to your family, through the free WiFi available throughout the building, a number of public telephones, and postal services.

If you’re hungry when you arrive, you can find plenty of options to sate your appetite. There are snack kiosks, boulangeries, bistros, and cafes where you can enjoy French and international cuisine. Passengers will also discover a healthy duty-free section here, selling cosmetics, fashion, jewellery, alcohol, tobacco, and gourmet food stuffs.

You can get to Toulouse from Australia with airlines like Air France, Tunisair, Alitalia, Lufthansa, KLM, Brussels Airlines and Qantas.

Travel Information

·         Situated 10km from the city centre, you should be able to make the journey in about 20 minutes by car. If you haven’t already booked a vehicle online, you can find car hire companies operating within the airport. As for getting in, all you need do is take the A621 to the Avenue d’Elche. Then take the Chemin du Sang de Serp until you reach the river, and follow it until you hit the Avenue Honore Serres, turn right, take the exit for the Boulevard d’Arcole and you’ll be sailing into the downtown area.

·         Buses and trams function as the public transport from this airport, and both are efficient and reasonably priced. Expect the journey for both to come to around 20-30 minutes, and both charge a fare of 8EUR ($11) for a one-way ticket. The third option is to book an airport transfer through Skyscanner, a particularly handy mode of transport if you are travelling with your family.

·         Lastly, you can pick up a taxi right outside of the Arrivals Hall, this is generally the most expensive option, but tends to stick to a total cost of 25-30EUR ($35-43).
