Shannon Airport

Shannon Airport is among Ireland’s three primary airports along with Dublin Airport and Cork Airport. It has served an estimated 1.4 million passengers in 2013, and is the third busiest in the country, just after Dublin and Cork. Serving Limerick, Ennis, Galway, along with the southwestern parts of Ireland, Shannon Airport is located in Shannon, County Clare, Ireland.

 Getting to & from the Airport

Driving hide 

When driving from the city centre, move west onto R471 towards Sli na Mara/Tullyvarraga for 650 metres. Upon reading the roundabout, take the third exit toward R472 for 350 metres. By the Shannon Town Roundabout, take the first exit onto N19 for 1.3 kilometres, then by the Drumgeely Roundabout, take the second exit, staying on N19 for 950 metres more. Lastly, take the second exit by the roundabout, for 1.2 kilometres to arrive to Shannon Airport.

Trains hide 

Getting to Shannon by train is not possible, since the town does not have a train station. Although if needed, it is possible to travel to Limerick by train; and from Limerick, connect to Shannon by bus or taxi.

Buses hide 

When travelling throughout Shannon by bus, the town is served by Bus Eireann, which also serves Shannon Airport with a total of 136 buses on a daily basis.
