Ho Chi Minh City Airport

Tan Son Nhat International Airport, formerly known as Saigon Airport, is the largest international airport in Vietnam in terms of area and passenger traffic. It has a handling capacity of 20 million passengers per annum, with a recorded number of 17,538,000 passengers in 2012. The airport serves the Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and the rest of southeastern Vietnam. It is operated by Airports Corporation of Vietnam and serves as the hub for Jetstar Pacific Airlines, VASCO, VietJet Air, and Vietnam Airlines. Tan Son Nhat International Airport is situated approximately eight kilometres from the city centre. Passengers coming from the United States or Europe usually stop over at Tan Son Nhat International Airport, while passengers travelling to the southern part of Vietnam depart here.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport has two major terminals and two runways. Currently, domestic flights operate from Terminal 1 (T1), while international flights operate from Terminal 2 (T2). There are 14 cargo airlines and around 43 passenger airlines that fly out from the airport. However, upon completion of the construction of a new airport called Long Thanh International Airport, only domestic flights will operate at Tan Son Nhat.
