Busan Gimhae International Airport (PUS)


Gimhae International Airport (PUS) is the principal aviation hub for South Korea’s second largest city, operating both domestic and international flights. In fact, this port flies to over 40 cities all over Asia, and sees up to 16 million people take advantage of these routes.


The airport opened to the public in the 1970s, and since then it has undergone several updates, including a new international terminal. Currently, there are plans to start an expansion project to increase the passenger capacity of this facility due to start in the next few years.


In terms of amenities, you travellers will have access to cash machines, bureau de change counters, and full banking services. For staying in touch with friends and family, or simply communicating with a hotel, you can access free and comprehensive WiFi, internet kiosks, and payphones.


If you’re having to while away some time in the airport, you can find all sorts of eateries in this airport where you can sit down to eat or just grab something on the go. Then, if you have a hankering to do some shopping, you can browse the duty-free area, and duck into the bookshops, souvenir stores, and travel accessory outlets.

Travel Information


·         If you choose not to hire a car when you arrive at the airport, you can reserve one in advance of your flight with our car hire search tool. The drive is pretty straightforward, you must cross over on the Namhae Expressway, and take the Gyeongbu Expressway into town.


·         There are several public transportation options from this airport, with light rail and bus services running to and from the airport and the city. The light rail is the fastest, taking only around 20 minutes, and costing 1500KRW ($1.70), while the buses can take up to an hour but are cheaper at 1000KRW ($1).  You can also make your way to and from this airport via pre-booked airport transfers, which you can find with our price comparison tools.


·         You can choose from luxury and standard cabs, with fares beginning at about 30,000KRW ($34), and should only take about 30 minutes in total.

Driving hide 

Take Namhae Highway 2 to West Busan IC then exit via Yangsan/Gimhae Airport/Jinhae. Follow Gonghang-ro and turn left at Seobusan Intersection onto Yangsan/Gimhae Airport/Gangseogu Office. Exit Gimhae Airport (left on Gonghanjinip-ro).

Trains hide 

Subway Line 2: Transfer at Sasang Station to Busan-Gimhae Light Rail Transit (BGL) bound for Gonghang (Airport) Station. Subway Line 3: Transfer at Daejeo Station to BGL bound for Gonghang (Airport) Station.

Buses hide 

The bus stations at the airport are located outside of both its International and Domestic terminals. Gimhae International Airport is served by limousine buses, city buses, express buses, town buses, and intercity buses.
