Oslo Airport

The Oslo Airport (OSL), situated in Gardermoen is the key aviation hub for the city of Oslo, Norway’s capital. It is the largest of three airports that serve this city, and it also functions as one of the most important international aviation facilities in Scandinavia. The airport is undergoing a huge expansion project, aiming to double its current capacity. Presently, Oslo Airport sees 26 million passengers utilising its airport, and offers over 100 direct destinations to cities within Europe, the Middle East, North America, and Africa.

In terms of facilities, you will be able to find lots of ATMs and currency exchange services, as well as comprehensive free WiFi, internet stations (for those without mobile devices), public telephones, charging kiosks, and faxing services.

If you find yourself hungry, you can choose from an excellent selection of sit-down restaurants, casual cafes, popular fast-food joints, relaxed bars, and numerous snack kiosks, where you can grab something to eat from favoured treats, to healthy meals, whilst in transit.

The shopping is also very good at this airport, with a large duty section selling popular items like sunglasses, tobacco, cosmetics, alcohol, and fragrances. There are fashion stores, a bookstore, as well as a pharmacy, souvenir and travel accessory shop.

Travel Information

·         Take the E16 to the E6 to Ensjøveien in Gamle Osl, and then take the exit towards, Válerenga/Ensjø/Etterstad, then the first exit to Ensjøveien, which will take you into the city. The drive should take about 40 minutes to cross almost 50km. There are lots of car rental agencies within Oslo’s airport, and you can find them all in the arrivals hall. However, it will save you time and money if you use our car hire search tool and book your vehicle in advance.

·         The train is one of the fastest ways into the city; the Airport Express Train can get you into the city in about 20 minutes for 180NOK ($28).

·         There are also express buses, the Flybussen, which will take 45 minutes, but are a little bit cheaper at 150NOK ($23). There are also airport transfers that can be booked online and can meet you when you arrive if you aren’t keen on catching the bus.

·         Taxis are the most expensive way to travel—roughly 850NOK ($132)—but they are available at all hours, and you can take them from right outside the airport terminals.
