Gold Coast Airport

Gold Coast Airport, also sometimes referred to as Coolangatta Airport, is located on Eastern Avenue in Bilinga, near Coolangatta, Queensland. At the southern end of the Gold Coast, the terminal is roughly 25km south of the popular suburb of Surfers Paradise, and also happens to sit on the border between Queensland and New South Wales – the only airport in Australia to be in two states at a time. Gold Coast Airport is the main airport serving the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales areas, and it won the “Best Regional Airport Australia/Pacific” title in Skytrax’s 2015 awards.

The terminal at the Gold Coast Airport has been redeveloped quite recently, and is home to many facilities for travellers. At the airport you’ll find bathrooms, baggage lockers, currency exchange services, parents’ rooms, and a wide variety of cafes, bars and restaurants. The building also has numerous stores, including duty-free shops, to browse.

Travel Information

· Driving: If you decide to drive yourself to Gold Coast Airport, you will see that there are multiple parking choices at the terminal, with three car parks and more than 2,000 spaces available. If though, you happen to fly into the Gold Coast, you might need to hire a vehicle instead. This can easily be done online before you travel, or at the terminal directly.

· Buses: There are Translink public bus services operating to and from the airport on the Gold Coast, in addition to the Gold Coast Tourist Shuttle. This shuttle service travels up to Runaway Bay in the north or Tweed Heads in the south.
