Mildura Airport

The Mildura Airport (MQL) is the busiest regional airport in the state of Victoria, and it is easy to see why so many people want to fly to this small town. The Mildura region is known as the ‘Mediterranean in the Outback’, sitting on the banks of the Murray River, this region produces most of the state’s wine, and the surrounding rolling vineyards are vaunted as one of the most beautiful parts of agricultural Australia.

The Mildura Airport is an excellent facility, which was awarded the ‘Airport of the Year’ in 2013 by the Australian Airports Association. Its redevelopment has seen a rise in passengers each year and now the airport sees over 200,000 people pass through its gates annually.

The airport runs several routes in Australia, and to major cities within the country. Fly to or from Adelaide (ADL) in South Australia, Melbourne (MEL) in Victoria, and Sydney (SYD) and Broken Hill (BHQ) in New South Wales. The airlines that operate flights to these destinations are REX Airlines, Qantas, and Virgin Australia.

Within the terminal, you will find a wonderful museum and memorial to the RAAF soldiers of Australia, a lovely café where you can sit down and enjoy some refreshments and pass some of your transit time. You will also have access to comprehensive and free-of-charge WiFi in this airport, perfect if you need to let family and friends know your progress as you travel.
