Sunshine Coast Airport is located around 11km by road from the centre of Maroochydore, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. The airport was formerly known as Maroochydore Airport, but has been operating as Sunshine Coast airport since 1997 when the new terminal building was completed.

Sunshine Coast Airport is comprised of one single-storey terminal building through which all flights arrive and depart, and the airport offers a few key services and facilities to passengers before or after their flight. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal building, and there are also internet kiosks located within the departure lounge.
In terms of food, drinks and shopping, there are several food outlets at the airport. Options include a bar, cafes, a Sumo Salad, as well as newsagents selling books, newspapers, and magazines, and retail stores clothing and jewellery.
There are two ATMs located in the terminal building, as well as a public payphone, and an Australia Post mailbox (located outside the terminal building). There is also a visitor information desk in the arrivals area, a smoking area between the two carparks, and baggage trolleys are provided to all passengers free of charge.
There are no aerobridges at Sunshine Coast Airport, so passengers must walk across the tarmac to reach their aircraft. For those who need special assistance, contact an Assistant directly by using the white service phones located in the Arrivals hall and Departures area.
In terms of transport options to and from the airport, there are a number of options available to passengers. Sunbus operates a public bus route which travels through Sunshine Coast Airport. Route 622 runs from Noosa to Maroochydore via the airport. Travel time by bus between the airport and Maroochydore is about 20 minutes.
There are also shuttle bus services operated by Henry’s and Con-X-ion. These offer a door-to-door service and must be booked in advance. Taxi services are operated in the area by Sunshine Suncoast Cabs. Travellers can also rent a car from Sunshine Coast airport from one of a number of reputable providers, including Avis, Redspot, Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty, and Budget.
