Orlando International Airport is an international airport serving the city of Orlando in Florida, USA. It is owned and operated of Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, and is located some six miles South-East from the central business district.

The airport is the 2nd busiest airport in Orlando next to the Miami International Airport, the 13th busiest airport in the United States, and the 29th busiest airport in the world. Formerly, the airport was known as the McCoy Air Force Base, a Strategic Air Command (SAC) installation, where its airport code, MCO came from. The airport is the hub for the closing AirTran Airways, and is the focus city for JetBlue Airways and Southwest Airlines. Passenger traffic peaks at almost 35 million annually, with 391,745 aircraft operations per year operating in all four concrete runways.

International destinations from the airport include Dublin, Mexico City, London Gatwick, Bogota, Port of Sprain, Panama City, Sao Paulo, Toronto, and many others. Meanwhile, the airport is dominated by domestic flights to many key cities in America, including New York, Washington, Houston, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Cleveland, Milwaukee, Las Vegas, and many others. Airlines that fly to the airport include WestJet, Volaris, Virgin Atlantic, Virgin America, United Airlines, Thomas Cook Airlines, Delta Airlines, Avianca, Alaska Airlines, and many others.

The busiest domestic routes from the area are Atlanta and New York, while Southwest Airlines and Delta cover the most number of passengers on domestic flights. For international destinations and carriers, Virgin Atlantic Airways top the list, taking almost 810,000 passengers to London and Manchester annually. Air Canada is far next, with 475,000 passengers going to Montreal and Toronto annually.

The Orlando International Airport has a hub-and-spoke layout with a large main terminal building and four airside concourses accessible via elevated tram systems. The main terminals are Terminal A (housing domestic carriers such as Southwest Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Virgin America, and American Airlines and International carriers such as Virgin Atlantic, Aeromexico, Avianca, Copa Airlines, TAM Airlines, and Aer Lingus) and Terminal B (housing Delta, US Airways, and United Airlines), while Airsides 1, 2, 3, and 4 all support and hold the other major and domestic airlines flying to the destinations. Some lounges and hub concourses are housed on the airsides, while the international arrivals concourse is housed in Airside 4.

Driving hide 

Get on FL-408 E from E Anderson Street and continue to Lake Underhill Road. Take exit 14, then take S Semoran Blvd to Jeff Fuqua Blvd. Continue driving towards Jeff Fuqua Blvd to reach the airport.

Trains hide 

There are no direct train services for the Orlando International Airport.

Buses hide 

Lynx, the local metro area public transportation system, operates on a sub-station at the airport with public bus service to Downtown Orlando and other area routes, and vice versa.

Taxi hide 

Taxi cab services are available via a taxi stand line on the Ground Transportation level for all terminals, while if coming from the city centre, travellers may hail taxi cabs on the streets.
