Brief Introduction to the Airport

Kindu Airport is located and serves the city of Kindu, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The capital of Maniema province in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kindu has a population of about 200,000 and is situated on the Lualaba River at an altitude of about 500 metres. The city is about 400km west of Bukavu.

There is only one airline operating at the airport, which is Compagnie Africaine d’Aviation flying to Bukavi and Kinshasa-N’dijili. Most of the goods arriving to the city are transported via Kindu Airport from Goma, Bukavu, and Kinshasa. The city is also accessible via rail to Kalemie, Kamina, and Kananga.

Since flights in Kindu Airport are limited, there are other airports in the Democratic Republic of the Congo that offers more commercial flights that will be easier for travellers to access. N'djili Airport or also known as the Kinshasa International Airport is the largest among the international airports in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Many airlines operate here that will offer more flights to and from different countries.

From Kindu city centre, head south towards N31. Drive along N2, R812, R809, R807, and R508. Take two left turns, continue straight then take a slight right turn. Continue straight towards Kindu Airport.
