Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport

Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport (JNB) is the most active airport in South Africa, and a key transit facility within the country, and the continent. Seeing upwards of 19 million people pass through its terminals each year, the OR Tambo International Airport is well-equipped to handle transiting passengers’ needs. For anyone looking to explore the history of this exciting and cosmopolitan city, this is the transit hub you will fly into.

There are plenty of modern facilities that passengers can access whilst passing through OR Tambo Airport. You will find banks, currency exchange, ATMs, a medical centre, a prayer room, and a post office. You’ll also be able to hop onto the airport’s WiFi free of charge for at least 30 minutes, otherwise there are internet kiosks, and a mobile phone hire service. For dining options, the airport will have most of your needs covered, with restaurants serving local and international cuisine, bars, coffee counters, and fast-food outlets. If you need to pick something up, you can grab gifts, reading materials, souvenirs at the shops in the airport, or browse retailers for fashion, jewellery, travel goods and cosmetics.

Airlines that run routes from Australia to Johannesburg are Qantas and South African Airways. But if you cannot find a direct flight, you’ll find that there are other carriers that fly connecting routes, and these are Air China, Air Mauritius, British Airways, Etihad Airways, Cathay Pacific, Virgin Australia, Emirates, Singapore Airlines, and Qatar Airways.
