Ibiza Airport

The Ibiza Airport originally served as a makeshift airport during the Spanish Civil War, but now, it handles passengers in the millions. Catering to two Balearic Islands of Spain, namely Ibiza and Formentera, the airport is located southwest of Ibiza Town. It has only one terminal, which services both domestic and international flights. Expect the airport to get busy around May to October, as about 85% of its passengers for the year typically arrive then.

Within Ibiza Airport, there are a variety of cafés for your dietary needs. Whether you are waiting to fly off in the Public Departures area or are waiting for someone to land in Public Arrivals area, there should be a café located close to you. Also, there are bars in the Passenger Departures area where you can grab a beer to relax.

Shopping in this airport is largely reserved for those who have checked in for their flights. In the Departures area, there are a number of shops that sell a variety of products. These include music and electronic items, travel goods, books and news, and gourmet products. There are also two duty free shops that sell a range of cigarettes, perfumes and designer goods.

While shops are limited in the public areas, there are several venues where you can get hold of a newspaper or magazine if you foresee boredom ahead. More importantly, if you forgot any medication or are in need of some due unforeseen circumstances, there is a pharmacy in the public area, which sells common items like painkillers and mosquito repellents, as well as a restricted assortment of over-the-counter drugs.

If you are short of cash, you can locate two ATMs in the Public Arrivals area on the ground floor. Note that these are Banco de Crédito Balear and La Caixa ATMs. In the same area, you can also find a post office if you need one. WiFi is available at this airport but relevant charges apply.
