Travel Information

· The airport is only 4km from Geneva centre, and the drive shouldn’t take you longer than 20 minutes to traverse, depending on the traffic. Hop onto the Route de Pré-Bois and take a sharp right onto the Route de l'Aéroport (look for signs for Lausanne/Genève). Turn right on Avenue Louis-Casai, then follow the road onto the Avenue du Phailly. There will be a slight left onto Avenue de Chatelaine (which will turn into Rue de Lyon, and then Rue Voltaire), and you will come to the centre of the city. Rent a car online, or at the airport at one of the eight car hire agencies, which include Enterprise, Budget, Sixt and Avis among others.

· The trains are the fastest way to get from the airport into town, taking only 6 minutes in total. The airport railway station is right in the arrivals centre, and so are the ticket machines. The best part is a ticket into Geneva-Conarvin station (the central station) is completely free. Please note, once the ticket is issued, you have 80 minutes to use it before it expired.

· You can also utilise this free transportation ticket on the buses, if you’d prefer that mode of transport. There are six bus lines that stop at the Check-in level of the airport, and come every 8-10 minutes. There are a variety of routes that can take you to Cornavin, or even to CERN.

· If you’d like to take a taxi instead, you will be subject to charges of about 35-45CHF ($47-60), and you can find them just outside the Arrivals area. Airport transfers are also available online, if you’d prefer to book something cheaper.
