Sao Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport, Sao Paulo, Brazil

Sao Paulo Guarulhos Airport is located 25 kilometres from the centre of Sao Paulo in the city of Guarulhos, part of the Greater Sao Paulo area. Handling almost 39 million passengers in 2015, the airport isn't just the busiest airport in Brazil, but in all of Latin America.

The airport is known by a number of different names, officially and unofficially. Its official title is Sao Paulo/Guarulhos–Governador André Franco Montoro International Airport, named after the former State Governor, but many locals know it as Cumbica Airport, due to its location in that district. The airport is also referred to by its shortened moniker, GRU Airport.

Extensive upgrades were carried out at the airport in preparation for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics held in Brazil. This included the restructuring of the terminals:

- Terminal 1 is the domestic terminal and the smallest of the terminals (formerly known as Terminal 4). It only handles flights from Azul Brazilian Airlines and Passaredo, and can be reached from the main airport by a free shuttle bus.

- Terminal 2 is the largest terminal, which houses international and domestic flights primarily from Latin American airlines. This was formerly Terminals 1 and 2.

- Terminal 3 is the newest terminal, which has most of the long-haul international airlines including American Airlines, the LATAM Group and Star Alliance members. Terminals 2 and 3 are connected via a walkway.

Terminals 2 and 3 both offer a wide range of facilities, including dining options, duty-free shopping and currency services, as well as Fast Sleep cabins charged by the hour where you can catch up on sleep and freshen up before or after your flights. Facilities in Terminal 1 are more limited.
