Goma International Airport, also referred to as Goma Airport, is a small airport located just outside the city of Goma in the eastern part of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Africa. Goma is situated very close to the border with Rwanda (the Rwandan city of Gisenyi is nearby), and sits on the northern shore of prominent Lake Kivu.
The city also lies at the foot of the active volcano, Mount Nyiragongo. Although Goma Airport was out of operation for some time after being partially destroyed by lava in 2002, the terminal has been undergoing renovations, and it is believed that limited flights are operating from the airport at this stage. This information is correct as of March 2016.
