Goa Airport

Goa International Airport (GOI)

Serving the beautiful and relaxing state of Goa, and its principal city of Panjim, the Goa International Airport (GOI)—also known as the Dabolim Airport—is the best hub to fly into if you are hoping for a beach holiday in this region. The airport is situated 4km outside of Dabolim, and about 26km from Panjim. Operating since 1955, this airport is one of India’s busiest, seeing over three million passengers annually, and operates direct flights to almost 20 destinations both domestic and international.

In terms of facilities, you will find this hub is pretty well-equipped; there are cash machines, and currency exchange counters that you can utilise if you didn’t have time to sort out your financial admin in your origin city. Communication amenities include WiFi (though you have to pay for it), plus payphones, and post office services.

There are dedicated duty-free shops selling all your favourite goodies across cosmetic, tobacco, alcohol, and electronic ranges. You will also find newsagents, bookstores, and souvenir shops here.

You can enjoy a meal in the restaurant, or pick up a snack in one of the many to-go kiosks in the terminal buildings. There are also medical services, and information desks you can approach if you need a little direction.

Flights to Goa from Australia can be reserved with carriers like Air India, Qantas, Singapore Airlines, Jet Airways, Emirates, Thai Airways, Malaysia Airlines, and Cathay Pacific.

Travel Information

·         If you’re hiring a car, you will find these usually come with a driver included. You can organise a vehicle when you land at the agencies within the airport, or find a deal that suits you with our price comparison tools. The drive to Panjim, the main city of Goa is probably the first place you’ll kick off a tour in Goa, and this involves getting on the NH566 to the NH66. From here, get on Bambolim, then take the Old Highway to DB Marg and you’ll come into the central part of Panjim.

·         Buses do run from the airport, but these are to the towns closest to the airport, and do not come very frequently. You can find minibuses, or maybe arrange a shuttle through your hotel. However, it might be easiest to book an airport transfer through our site, and you can be met when you arrive with your chosen transport.

·         Taxis serve the airport, and it is advisable to arrange a pre-paid one through the dedicated taxi counter in the airport. Expect a fare to Panjim to come to around 400-500INR ($8-10).
