Edinburgh Airport is located about 13km by road from Edinburgh city centre. It is the busiest airport in Scotland as of 2015, and the airport consists of one passenger terminal through which all domestic and international flights arrive and depart.

Edinburgh Airport is a large modern airport offering plenty of facilities, shopping and dining options for passengers. Dry cleaning, left luggage, baggage wrapping and weighing, smoking areas, prayer rooms, and cash machines are all available in the terminal building.

For those who need to exchange money before or after their international flight, there are 5 ICE (International Currency Exchange) desks located around the airport, and two of them offer a “click and collect” service with discounted rates. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal, as well as internet kiosks where access can be paid for by credit card or coins.

The airport also has a wide range of shopping and dining facilities, including multiple cafes, bars, restaurants, and fast food outlets.

Travel Information

Edinburgh Airport is well connected to multiple areas of Edinburgh and other destinations around Scotland by public transport links.

Buses to Edinburgh and other destinations depart from outside the main entrance, in the terminal forecourt. The Airlink 100 bus departs from Stop D, and travels directly into the city centre of Edinburgh. The journey takes around 30 minutes, and buses depart every 10 minutes. Tickets can be purchased online in advance, or from the driver before boarding. For those travelling to Glasgow, the Citylink Air bus departs from Stop C every 30 minutes at peak times, and the journey takes 60 minutes.

Edinburgh Airport does not have a railway station, however, those wishing to connect to local rail services can catch a bus, tram or taxi to one of the nearby train stations for onwards travel to other destinations.

Official airport taxis depart from the ground floor of the multi-level carpark opposite the terminal building. A taxi journey to the city centre will normally take around 25 minutes, and all cabs are wheelchair accessible.
